The Speech every well meaning Nigerian expects Buhari to make.

Fellow Nigerians!
I greet you all this morning.
The essence of this sudden speech is to keep you abreast with the progress my Government has made and to remind you of how far we've gone in fulfilling the promise of Change.
As you all know, this administration came into power on the wings of the promise of change.
When we said 'Change ', we really meant it because we could feel the pulse of the Nigerian people who were tired of successive Governments that were tainted by corruption, thievery, abuse of power, waste, greed, insecurity and a very frustrating economy.
It was in the light of these numerous problems which we knew that you were tired of that we decided to make the following areas, the centrepiece of our administration;
1. A comprehensive war on corruption, leading to its' reduction to the barest minimum.
2. Restoration of Security to every troubled part of the Country, and Complete annihilation of the dreaded 'Boko Haram ' sect.
3. Resurrection of our hitherto moribund economy.
In the preceding lines, I wish to brief you on how far we've come in tackling these challenges;
In the area of the anti corruption war, we have overcome the initial resistance posed by a few powerful individuals.
I must say that we expected their resistance because you don't expect people to applaud you while you take away their means of livelihood; corruption simply fought back!
I must add that we have been able to contain corruption as well as the counter attack by corruption.
Our efforts have yielded great fruits, and of course so many powerful individuals even in my own political party have been brought to book.
We have recorded through the instrumentality of the EFCC and the Judiciary, not less than 25 high profile convictions, as well as over 200 'yam eaters' who are cooling their heels in the numerous prisons across the country.
Aside jailing these ambassadors of poverty, we have equally recovers over 95% of our stolen wealth.
We have also been able to reduce the cost of Governance; we've stopped state sponsored pilgrimage to the holy lands, and we have also removed the names of over 100,000 ghost workers in the Government's payroll, and in the process, we have created employment for a very reasonable number of Nigerian youths.
We have also sold all but one plane in the hitherto flamboyant Presidential fleet, and also resuscitated the defunct Nigerian Airways.
You would agree with me that this is no mean feat, and the truth is that we are not done in our efforts to sanitize Nigeria
In the area of INSECURITY, we have effectively decimated the once dreaded Boko Haram sect.
I need not remind you that there was a time when this sect embarrassed us as a nation by unleashing countless bombings which cost the lives of over 20,000 civilians, as well as taking control of as many as 14 Local Governments in this country.
You would agree with me that a single bomb blast has not been recorded or reported in the last one year... This is a clear departure from the past.
Hence, it would not be out of place for me to say that we have made good our promise of securing Nigeria.
Finally, we have been able to steer the cause of the Nigerian economy; we have overcome the initial challenges occasioned by the fall in the oil prices at the world oil market.
I need not remind you that we were the worst hit country by the oil price crash. The reason is simple; we were technically a mono economy that relied on proceeds from the sale of oil which was once our only source of income.
This crash nearly plunged us into a recession and our currency, the Naira stood at the risk of becoming worthless.
Well, I an happy to announce to you that we have successfully diversified our economy, and we now earn foreign exchange substantially from Agriculture and solid minerals.
Our Naira officially stands at an impressive exchange rate of 50 Naira  to a dollar... This was not the case before now.
Our economy is progressing geometrically; power supply has substantially improved and Nigeria is now one of the best places to do business in the world.
Fellow Nigerians, I thank you for the audience you gave granted me, and most importantly, for trusting me with your mandate.... All I want is to make you proud of Nigeria.
There is still more to do, and we will not relent on making good our promises!
We are Working; Nigeria is on the Rise!

  1. Well, as a well meaning Nigerian, I believe that these things need time . So if I may say, I expect this speech later but not too late.
    And as for the 50 naira to a dollar exchange rate, I don't think that it's possible.
