BUHARI PRESENTS 2016 BUDGET TO NATIONAL ASSEMBLY.




A few minutes ago, the President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari presented the 2016 budget to a joint session of the National Assembly.
This budget presentation is by all standards a rare fit as far as the history of Budget presentation in the country is concerned considering that for the very first time in so many years, the President made the presentation in record time.
According to the President, there is a 223% increase in capital expenditure.
Also, there is a greater focus on Education, Agriculture, Interior and Unemployment.
It is expected that as soon as the Legislature returns from recess, the Budget will be considered.

    Exactly what we discussed on "Oil" class . Diversification of the nations source of income mainly with Agriculture and other natural resources.
    We are moving to the promise land gradually.

Nigeria at 56: are we cursed or are we the cause?

Apologies to Mr Peter Obi for using this catchy but thought provoking phrase that he used the very first time he contested for the Governorship of Anambra State. Apparently, that question he asked over ten years ago still hangs over not just his Anambra State but Nigeria as a whole. AHEAD OF SATURDAY: WHO DID WE OFFEND?

Recently, I saw an op-Ed o n Bloomberg which potrayed Nigeria's 2019 Presidential election as between a former dictator and an alleged kleptocrat. At first, I considered the insinuation offensive but deep down, I knew that was the perfect description of the two gladiators in this weekend's presidential polls; my grouse was actually with the fact that even foreigners know how bad our shit smells. While he was campaigning for the first time as the Governor of Anambra State, Mr Peter Obi, the vice presidential candidate of Nigeria's main opposition party in Saturday's poll kept asking if Anambra was cursed or if Anambra people were the cause.
