Twenty years after his unfortunate execution with 8 other of his fellow comrades by Nigerian authorities, late environmental activist, poet and leader of the Movement for the Survival of Ogoni People, Ken Saro Wiwa was remembered in the London Headquarters of Shell Petroleum as part of activities marking his painful execution.
In his lifetime, Ken Saro Wiwa led the struggle against the degradation of Ogoni land, as a result of oil spillage occasioned by the activities of foremost multinational, Shell Bp.
Even as his death is being commemorated, this is a clarion call to the Government to ensure the implementation of the report on the clean up of Ogoni Land.
