No Boko Haram Prisoners in Ebonyi State:



The Ebonyi State Governor, Engineer Dave Umahi, Ekubaraoha has denied reports going round the state that Boko Haram prisoners relocated from Ekwulobia Prisons in Anambra State have been moved to Ebonyi Prisons.
He made the statement while addressing journalists on some burning issues in the state.
According to him, Prisons in the state were congested and as such,even if the Federal Government wanted to relocate the prisoners, there would be no space for such.
He also warned rumour mongers to desist from spreading lies to the public, whils equally cautioning the public against accepting unconfirmed reports. 
Speaking further, the Governor warned his Commissioners against engaging in Sharp Practices in their efforts towards generating revenue for the state.

Nigeria at 56: are we cursed or are we the cause?

Apologies to Mr Peter Obi for using this catchy but thought provoking phrase that he used the very first time he contested for the Governorship of Anambra State. Apparently, that question he asked over ten years ago still hangs over not just his Anambra State but Nigeria as a whole. AHEAD OF SATURDAY: WHO DID WE OFFEND?

Recently, I saw an op-Ed o n Bloomberg which potrayed Nigeria's 2019 Presidential election as between a former dictator and an alleged kleptocrat. At first, I considered the insinuation offensive but deep down, I knew that was the perfect description of the two gladiators in this weekend's presidential polls; my grouse was actually with the fact that even foreigners know how bad our shit smells. While he was campaigning for the first time as the Governor of Anambra State, Mr Peter Obi, the vice presidential candidate of Nigeria's main opposition party in Saturday's poll kept asking if Anambra was cursed or if Anambra people were the cause.
